Project background

Grid operators work across multiple aging tools to piece together a picture of network state. The client wanted a single modern dashboard that consolidated monitoring, alerts, and historical context.

Challenge

Visualizing large networks without overwhelming operators, combining spatial (GIS) and temporal (trend) views in one workflow, and keeping the UI responsive under realistic event loads.

Approach & solution

We designed a GIS-first layout with drill-downs into feeders, assets, and events. A unified timeline connects live and historical views, and customizable layers let different operator roles tailor what they see. Alert flows surface the highest-priority items without burying useful context.

Results & benefits

Operator workflows shortened noticeably, and training time for new hires dropped because the interface matched how operators actually think about the network. Response to events became more consistent across shifts.
